Post #10: 3/15/11 - 3/21/11

This is actually my room mate...he was my environmental portrait for Journalism class :) )

i think my days got a bit mixed up in here somewhere....I meant to post this last week. Company One got out early and went to Flames for Pi day (3/14) for some real pi and had an awesome time. Hence my being almost late for the midterm! But I made it.

This was the last weekend of Annie. We had to strike the set and bring it to the scene shops and were finally free!!!! Our Stage Manager took us out to Flames after for some fun. I was kinda bummed though cause Saturday my kids competed again and I had to miss it cause of work and the show! I wouldn't have been able to go. One of my team Moms was very disappointed in me, but she is always disappointed in me, so what else is new?!?!? really?!?!?

Anyway, Company One is coming along with our numbers. we have 3 more to finish, and then we open mid April. Now that Annie is over, I can put all my energy into that, and can focus all of that. Gonna miss the annie kids though.

Excited that I finally get to go home again. My sister has been calling me like crazy to visit and I want to but it sucks when I don't drive and can't make it up there, and when I have no life and can't make it up there! I miss my family :(

I like having some down time right now, so I figured I should do a post today, and I think I got my days messed up somewhere....I will post again later tonight, or tomorrow and stop doing the weekly thing I guess...ven though its so much easier, but now that shows are coming to an end and things are lightening up, I have much more time on my hands. My Rep audition is tonight!!! AH!!!! And. I will hear soon whether I have a call back. Nervous and Excited.

Post #9 - 3/8/11 - 3/14/11

other above photos. My friend Inna and I went to Dickens Faire, and she FINALLY got the photos we ordered. it took them FOREVER, and we got a partial refund since they misplaced out orders. I think we look fabulous in corsets. Nutella....yea. delicious on apples and is my snack of choice!)

I know I should be writing more, but oh well! This month means no sleep for me! Kinda proud of how my images have turned out for the portrait project with colors! I don't know if people will understand it, but I think I am gonna start thinking about how I want to present them. I want it to be Spring Awakening themed since thats what were going for here. But who knows.

Annie 3rd weekend was very successful. We sold a good portion of the house and had to turn people away one night! I find that very successful! More crew photos tonight. I just realized when I was doing laundry that because of this show, I have a lot of dark clothes to wash. Annie has used up all of my black clothes!!! And this week, all my photos were in black except for one. Well...not the same blacks.

We got home reasonably early today from striking the set. I guess by the third week we have disassembling the set done pretty well. This week has been crazy! More choreo for my company solo...and my Rep audition approaches!! AHH!

Annie will be the death of me!!!! We have to strike the set every night and reassemble it the next day! I mean really, what company does that?!?! Its insane! Anyway, There are way too many problems with opening week...The second week was slightly better, but I am exhausted. Short post tonight...Photos from the week. Portrait project coming along nice. Have to schedule a reshoot with Shawna cause some didn't turn out the way I wanted. Damn! And Journalism is getting wayyyy too confusing. I don't knwow hat he wants half of the time, but oh well. Um...work is work. Nothing strange and wonderful there. Kids are just being kids. Company is good. The lift is still scary, but when the directors away, her actors will play! check out the clip of us at Thursdays rehearsal... I know we shouldn't misbehave when the directors away but what can I say. Company one is full of big kids. :)

NEED TO SLEEP!!!!! No jazz 3 for my at 8 am tomorrow.. No Thanks!

My KIDS WON AT THEIR COMPETITION!!!!!!!

This was them in a rehearsal! check out the video! They won 3 awards at the competition and I couldn't be a prouder Mama! They were spot on and no shoes went flying!

Also, Company just had another tour to the Sunnyvale Community Senior Center. We did well...not so sure the seniors undertsood. I think they were just happy to have us there.

One of our kids in Annie threw up backstage tonight, and I got in trouble for missing my transition cause I was taking care of her, and the backstage Mom wasn't there! So...when the kids weren't looking, I said a few choice words to the backstage Mom and to the technical Director. I'm so glad the actual director was on my side! You rock Paul Sawyer!! :)

I just realized because of Annie, I won't be able to go back to San bruno for a Month....that kinda sucks. I miss my puppy Aspen! And my family. My sister is going to be Horton the Elephant in Seussical and I have to miss it! Yuck! :(

I've gotten into the habit of taking photos during the week and posting them at the end of the week when I do my online class! Oh my gosh! Check out this video of us today from Westmont singing "Lets Here it for the Boy!" Not to brag, but us Company Ladies sound fabulous!!! The boys better watch out! "Hooked on a Feeling" won't sound as good as us! Hahaha!

So this week... Almost time for our tour date! 2/25/11 :) Here we come Ohlone College Drama classes! Be ready for some Filthy Rich Fun!

Also...STEP (School Touring Ensemble Program got our scripts today!! Yay!!! :) Tomas and the Library Lady readin next week. And...I may be getting an audition at the REP for SPRING AWAKENING!!!!!!! :) Gotta figure out what I am gonna sing.

Annie went into tech today. We just got home from Loading in the set, and that sucker is heavy. The kids are adorable though. This show is gonna be a pain in the neck, but wouldn't change it for anything. Its a favor to my friend who is directing, and my friend Kat who is the stage manager. Tech week is affectionately named Hell week for a reason....let's see how that goes!

Again, posting many photos into one entry cause I have no life! Hopefully this won't have me lose points! This week, its been an interesting week. Company One rehearsed our a cappella piece for our show in April for the first time. We broke out all of our parts and started the breakdown. Haven't started rehearsing any solos yet, since we have til April. I think we'll start those soon. We cut a few things from Act 1, and are adding new songs like "Money That's What I Want" and "We're in the Money". Should be fun to see the final choreo for those numbers.

It feels different being on the performance end of the table this year versus being a stage manager. We also have 2 tours at the end of the month! Se exciting! :) Not the getting up early, but I like touring!

Kids are competing next weekend...oh boy!! And school is the same...it sucks! Hahaha!

Post #4 - 2/3/11 - 2/6/11

So...things have been busy and I haven't been posting a lot lately, but am now going to post 3 photos and talk about the last 3 days. So here are some pictures! I got rangled in to work a show at the end of the month at Sunnyvale Community Players for their production of "Annie". Should be exciting. Not getting paid though. Yuck! I donate a month of my time, and no pay? Whatever! Its a favor to 2 friends of mine.

Oh yea! Company One gear came in today!!!! So excited to have my new company jacket! It was supposed to have my name on it...but oh well!! Its still awesome!

Hey all! So today. Nothing really interesting going on. My students gave me an awesome jacket today! I feel so special to be part of the Dance Attack team! Were competing in a couple of weeks. Hopefully we will do well!

I really don't have much to say tonight. Kinda tired, and not ready to start the day again tomorrow.

Post # 2 - 2/1/11

DANG!!! So...maybe taking Jazz 2, and Jazz 3 at the same time wasn't the smartest idea I ever had. Both classes are back to back and early in the morning. Its double the workout, double the warm up, and double the pain after class! I mean, heck, I love the challenge, but its hard on my body. Maybe in the next few weeks I will get more used to the workout, and my body will adjust. I guess for tonight, its Ibueprofen, a bag of peas, and an elevated foot on the couch with my computer doing homework.

I think I just pulled something in my foot, but I'd better be safe than sorry. This photo was taken with my phone. I need to charge my actual camera batteries!

Post 1/31/11

So....This is my blog for Photo 112. I haven't taken a photo of myself every day, but am getting in the habit of doing so! Not all of these photos were taken OF me, but they were taken BY me! And....Since I was a dork and didn't go to the first class, I didn't know about the journal until tonight! So....Let's start at the beginning! :)

Hello friends! I'm Theresa! I'm a third year at San Jose State, and am a musical theatre major/photography and education minor. Whoever was at Wednesdays class has seen some of my work. I'm into candids, and theatrical/production/performance photography. I'm just starting out, so am still learning. Please feel free to leave any comments or let me know what you think of my work! Totally look forward to hearing what you have to say!

Anyway...I'm a dance teacher, teaching little kids the fundamentals of tap/ballet. I enjoy tap the most, and at Magic Carpet Theatre camp, my camp name is Ms. Twinkle Toes, because of the rhinestones on my tap heels! :) I have 3 younger siblings and 3 dogs at home in San Bruno (but I live in San Jose currently for school). I am used to early mornings and late nights thanks to public transportation (I don't drive). I enjoy chai lattes and a good cup of tea at night. I'm also a member of Company One (the musical theatre troupe on campus). You will see me flaunting the jacket most nights (either that or my Dance Attack jacket)

Anything else? Well just ask! :)

photo 3) me and my best buddy! we have known each other since I was 3, and she was 2. This was at the beginning of the summer.

photo 4) Thats a little puppy were fostering! He just got adopted. But it was hard to take a picture of him when he just wanted to play tug-a-war with my hair! This photo was taken last month.
